Gynecologist photographed patients

A gynecologist from Schifferstadt (Rhein-Pfalz-Kreis) has been sentenced to three and a half years in prison. The man had secretly taken thousands of pictures and videos of his patients. In more than 1400 cases, the doctor injured the highly personal life "of his patients. His staff had reported the police to the police when they found a camera with clear photos in the treatment rooms. Between 2008 and 2011, the gynecologist photographed his victims not only in the changing rooms, but also in the genital area. The doctor, on the other hand, explained that the recordings were only made for medical reasons

The district court in Frankenthal in the Palatinate also ruled that he was guilty of sexual abuse in three cases. The sentence is closely related to the demands of the public prosecutor. This had demanded four years in prison and a ban on the profession for the 58-year-old. The defense had hoped for a two-year suspended sentence and is now considering taking further steps against the verdict. (fr)
